Dieter’s at the IFA show in Berlin, Germany and he’s scored us a first look at mophie’s upcoming juice pack air for iPhone 4. It’s got soft touch paint and they claim ZERO signal degredation because the entire PCB board is on the bottom, so there are no electronics around the antenna. It’s shipping to Apple now and will be available in “Nationwide retailers” next week for $79.95.

Intel has announced that they’ve bought Infineon’s wireless solutions business (WLS) for 1.4 billion dollars, which includes the Infineon 3G radio baseband used in iPhone. Here’re the PR bullets:
WLS sale enables Infineon to expand leading position in markets for automotive, industry and security technologies.
WLS will operate as a standalone business. Intel is committed to serving WLS’ existing customers, including support for ARM-based platforms.

Apple’s online store now lists both iPad Wi-Fi and iPad Wi-Fi + 3G as shipping in 24hrs, and not just in the US but in international stores from Canada to the UK as well.
Supplies of Apple’s “magical and revolutionary” new device have been highly constrained since launch, leading delays in international rollouts and concerns that the IPS panels just couldn’t be made fast enough to meet demand.

It’s taken a while but Netflix has finally updated their iOS app to universal binary — that’s right, it now supports not only iPad but iPhone and iPod touch as well.
“Apple has changed the game for mobile devices,” said Reed Hastings, Netflix co-founder and chief executive officer. “We’re excited that our members can now carry Netflix around in their pockets and instantly watch movies and TV shows streamed from Netflix right to their iPhone or iPod touch.”

Nokia today announced the 5250, a new S60 5th Edition / Symbian^1 touch phone that focuses on providing a good music experience. Verizon Wireless Snags Centennial Communications Assets

Verizon Wireless today announced that it has completed the acquisition of AT&T’s Centennial Communications assets. The transaction, which was mandated by the Federal Communications Commission in order for AT&T to purchase Centennial Communications, gives Verizon Wireless Centennial’s spectrum licenses, network assets and more than 117,000 current customers in six service areas.
