“Flight delays” causing international iPad deliveries to slip?

Apparently “flight delays” have caused some international iPad deliveries to slip from the previously promised May 28 to May 29… or later. While some in Europe received their iPads days early, others are waking up to this notice from Apple:

International iPads begin shipping!

International iPads have begun shipping in order to meet Apple’s delivery and release deadline of May 28, 2010. So fire up those planes from Shenzhen, China, get those trucks in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and UK gassed and ready, because Apple is once again about to unleash iPad fury. Apple refunds expedited shipping charge for iPad pre-orders

If you pre-ordered your iPad for April 3 and ponied up the extra money for expedited shipping, 9to5Mac reports that Apple is giving you a refund. Since all iPad Wi-Fi deliveries will occur on the same day, the more expensive shipping option made no sense. Nice to see Apple making right one that, isn’t it?
