Google Settles Buzz Privacy Suit

Google has settled a lawsuit against it over its Buzz social networking service. When it launched in February, Google automatically used Gmail customers’ Google Contacts to build a set of followers. Many complained that this was done without their permission and gave away their email addresses to strangers. Sprint 4G Signal Now Flickering in New York City

Some owners of Sprint 4G devices, such as the Sprint Overdrive or Samsung Epic 4G, may begin to see WiMAX service appearing sporadically in the New York City area. According to Sprint PR rep Stephanie Vinge, the WiMAX network is being prepped for launch soon. Sprint today announced expanded coverage in Boston, Daytona Beach, Florida and Providence, Rhode Island.

Verizon Wireless today announced the addition of a new subscription movie service to its V CAST Video offering. The service, which is provided by Crackle and offers content from Sony Pictures, costs $6 per month on top of the $10 V CAST Video subscription and necessary data package. Apple’s online store now lists both iPad Wi-Fi and iPad Wi-Fi + 3G as shipping in 24hrs, and not just in the US but in international stores from Canada to the UK as well.

Samsung Says MetroPCS Launching LTE in September

A Samsung executive has said that MetroPCS plans to launch its Long Term Evolution network in September using Samsung networking equipment and will also launch the Samsung-made Craft LTE phone.
